FedFlow — federal award recipient intelligence

USAspending publishes federal awards in three separate categories — contracts, grants, and loans — and only lets you search them one award at a time. It never gives you a ranked, exportable view of recipients funded across many awarding agencies and across award categories — the contractors who are also grantees. FedFlow does: it resolves the recipient across every award, de-duplicates name variants into one canonical entity, and rolls all three categories up to that recipient with agency breadth, geographic spread, total dollars, a dual-status flag, and a deterministic 0–1 reach/diversification score — the who-is-funded-where-and-how-broadly signal flat, siloed USAspending search can’t show on its own.

Preview-only page. It shows the structure and capability of this dataset using a limited, representative sample. The recipient reach/diversification score, the cross-agency / cross-category reach breadth, and the per-record quality score — the sellable columns — are withheld, and the full dataset is not downloadable here. It is provided separately after licensing.

Coverage & headline figures

Built from one free, public USAspending endpoint queried across three award categories and cross-linked into one recipient-resolved, scored, exportable product. Deterministic and rule-based — no LLM in the pipeline.

What’s in it — schema

Two cross-linked tables. recipients is the headline deliverable — the resolved, cross-agency entity; awards is the row-level award detail that rolls up into it.

A representative slice of resolved recipients — the kind of broad-reach, multi-agency entities that recipient resolution surfaces. Award counts, state spread, and total obligations are shown; the cross-agency / cross-category reach and the reach score — the proprietary, sellable columns — are redacted. Eight of 844 recipients; ordering does not reflect the reach score.
