Coverage & headline figures
Built from the free, keyless FAA Releasable Aircraft Database (snapshot 2026-07-02): four registry files parsed header-first, joined, trustee-resolved, fleet-clustered, and quality-scored deterministically, with no LLM in the pipeline. 89 pytest tests, all passing.
Segment mix: Jet 28,927 · Turboprop 14,374 · Turbine Helicopter 9,415 · Piston 249,108 · Electric 3,520. Trailing 90 days: 978 deregistrations (top export destinations Brazil 95, Canada 64, Mexico 28) and 481 SALE REPORTED filings. Average record quality 0.9552 (0–1 completeness; 97.6% of records at 0.80 or higher).
One number worth repeating: 3,865 of Utah’s 5,104 turbine aircraft (75.7%) are registered to trustees, mostly Bank of Utah in Salt Lake City. The public registry shows the trustee, not the owner. JetLedger sizes and segments that veil, trustee by trustee.
Nine named trustees account for 5,942 of the 13,020 aircraft hidden behind a trustee veil

FAA Releasable Aircraft Database
(
registry.faa.gov, ~73 MB zip): four files consumed. - MASTER → every active registration (registrant, address, certificate dates, airworthiness).
- ACFTREF + ENGINE → make/model and engine reference codes (93,862 + 4,747; 100% model-join on this snapshot).
- DEREG → cancelled registrations with export destination (730-day window kept: 7,343 rows).

A representative slice of the turbine new-certificate lead feed: aircraft that took fresh registration paper in the last days of the snapshot window. Certificate date, airframe, segment, location, and capacity are shown. The tail number and the registrant / resolved trustee (the columns a broker or lender actually buys) are redacted. Eight of 1,942 turbine new certificates shown, from the trailing 90 days.
