Coverage & headline figures

Built from the free, keyless FAA Releasable Aircraft Database (snapshot 2026-07-02): four registry files parsed header-first, joined, trustee-resolved, fleet-clustered, and quality-scored deterministically, with no LLM in the pipeline. 89 pytest tests, all passing.

One number worth repeating: 3,865 of Utah’s 5,104 turbine aircraft (75.7%) are registered to trustees, mostly Bank of Utah in Salt Lake City. The public registry shows the trustee, not the owner. JetLedger sizes and segments that veil, trustee by trustee.

  • FAA Releasable Aircraft Database (registry.faa.gov, ~73 MB zip): four files consumed.
  • MASTER → every active registration (registrant, address, certificate dates, airworthiness).
  • ACFTREF + ENGINE → make/model and engine reference codes (93,862 + 4,747; 100% model-join on this snapshot).
  • DEREG → cancelled registrations with export destination (730-day window kept: 7,343 rows).
